Georgia Hodgson

I am a caring and passionate Occupational Therapist with experience working in both hospital and community settings. I am deeply committed to providing holistic, client-centred care that addresses the individual needs of each person I work with. My goal is to empower clients to live their lives to the fullest by enhancing their independence and well-being.

  • Home Modifications: Assessment and recommendations for environmental modifications to enable people to live safely and independently in their home. Home modifications may include changes to the structural, layout, or design of a home to improve accessibility and livability.
  • Assistive Technology: Assessment and prescription of assistive technology to improve participation, independence, and quality of life. This involves gaining an understanding of the individual’s needs to identify and complete trials to determine the best assistive technology solution, completion of documentation to obtain funds to purchase (as appropriate to each funding body), and training and support to ensure effective use.
  • Functional Skills Retraining: Working collaboratively with individuals to identify what activities they would like to improve their capacity and independence. Therapeutic interventions include therapy, assistive technology, and home modifications to help individuals regain or improve their participation in meaningful and everyday activities necessary for independent living (i.e., dressing, cooking, use of public transport).

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where the needs and goals of the client are at the heart of every decision. My approach is rooted in empathy and the belief that meaningful change happens when clients are actively involved in their own journey towards greater independence.

When I’m not working, you’ll often find me singing and collaborating with other musicians! I also love to surf with my friends at our beautiful local beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
