Martina Hunt

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2009, I ventured into various professional settings, spanning government, non-profit, education, and the private sector. My work has taken me to regional, rural, and remote areas of Queensland, providing invaluable experience, particularly within indigenous communities.

  • Neurological Rehabilitation: including communication and swallowing intervention for acquired brain injuries such as traumatic brain injury and stroke, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neuron disease, Huntington’s Disease, and other rare neurological conditions
  • Parkinson’s Voice Therapy: Specialised assessment, intervention and education for people with voice and speech changes associated with Parkinson’s Disease
  • Dysphagia Management: including assessment, safe swallowing and modified diet and fluid recommendations, swallow rehabilitation, development of mealtime management plans and education to family and support staff.

My approach to therapy sees me working in collaboration with my clients to assist them to achieve independence. I am deeply committed to collaborating with individuals in the community, assisting them in achieving personalised and meaningful goals that significantly impact their lives. I firmly believe in the power of collaborative practice and thrive within multidisciplinary teams.

Beyond my clinical work, I am passionately involved in clinical education, shaping both current and future professionals, and providing supervision to students during their clinical placements.
