Grace
Occupational therapist

I am a committed and compassionate occupational therapist and enjoy being able to support people in reaching their goals.
Areas of Expertise
Assistive Technology: Assessment and prescription of assistive technology to improve participation, independence and quality of life. This involves gaining an understanding of the individual’s needs to identify and completion of trials to determine the best assistive technology solution, completion of documentation to obtain funds to purchase (as appropriate to each funding body), and training and support to ensure effective use.
Functional Skills retraining: Working collaboratively with individuals to identify what activities they would like to improve their capacity and independence. Therapeutic interventions include therapy, assistive technology and home modifications to help individuals to regain or improve their participation in meaningful and everyday activities necessary for independent living (i.e., dressing, cooking, use of public transport).
Functional Capacity Assessments: Assessment of an individual’s ability to perform everyday tasks and activities, considering mobility, communication, social interaction, self-management, learning and self-care. Following an FCA, a comprehensive report is provided with recommendations for necessary supports to improve functional capacity and quality of life.
Approach to Therapy
I am committed to providing person-centred care to each client I meet and value taking a collaborative approach to support clients with identifying and reaching meaningful goals.
Outside the Clinic
Outside of the clinic I feel it is important to reset and recharge, and I find the best way to do that is to get out in nature whether that be swimming at the beach or going for a nature walk. I also enjoy a good book or spending time with friends and family (including my 3 dogs).
