Izzi

I’m an experienced occupational therapist working with children, young people and adults with disability and neurodivergence. I bring a warm and playful energy to my work, with a strong focus on making therapy feel enjoyable and engaging, while delivering thorough, high-quality assessment and reporting.

Paediatric Therapy & Assessment – Assessment and intervention to support children and young people to develop skills for everyday activities including self-care, play, learning, social participation, considering physical, cognitive and sensor processing differences that impact participation.

Functional Capacity Assessments – Assessment of an individual’s ability to perform everyday tasks and activities, considering mobility, communication, social interaction, self-management, learning and self-care. Following an FCA, a comprehensive report is provided with recommendations for necessary supports to improve functional capacity and quality of life.

Neuro-affirming practice: Empowering individuals to create routines, environments and build skills that support autonomy, participation and well-being without trying to change who they are.

My approach is strengths-based and focussed on making therapy enjoyable and engaging, using play and connection as a starting point to build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation. I also prioritise high-quality assessment, reporting and outcomes.

Outside of the clinic, I’m involved in powerchair football, an adapted version of soccer for people who use power wheelchairs. I work closely with the national team (the Poweroos) and support competitions and grassroots development in Queensland. I also enjoy staying active through yoga and love creative, crafty projects.
