Jess

I am a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist.

I have extensive experience supporting adults with complex physical and neurodegenerative conditions.

  • Manual Handling and Transfer Assessment – Evaluation of an individual’s physical abilities, environment and support needs to determine the safest and most effective techniques, equipment and assistance required for moving and transferring to reduce risk and promote independence.
  • Pressure Care Education and management strategies to maintain skin integrity and prevent/improve existing pressure injuries through prescription of pressure redistribution equipment and review of functional abilities, transfers, posture and other assistive technology.
  • Assistive Technology Assessment and prescription of assistive technology to improve participation, independence and quality of life. This involves gaining an understanding of the individual’s needs to identify and completion of trials to determine the best assistive technology solution, completion of documentation ot obtain funds to purchase (as appropriate to each funding body), and training and support to ensure effective use.

I  am passionate about getting to know an individual and understanding their own unique needs, perspectives and experiences to effectively support them to achieve their goals and participate in life roles and activities most meaningful to their life.

With strong clinical reasoning and a client-centred approach, I develop evidence-based recommendations that support meaningful outcomes, and build the capacity of the individual, their family and supporting teams.

When not working, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors with my family. I love hiking, going to the beach and exploring new areas around Australia.
